Microneedling with Dermapen 4™
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a clinically proven skin treatment designed to support the skin’s natural renewal process and improve overall skin quality over time.
Using tiny sterile needles, controlled micro-channels are created within the skin’s surface. This helps stimulate collagen and elastin production: two proteins important for maintaining firmer, smoother and healthier-looking skin.
Clients commonly come to us for concerns such as acne scarring, enlarged pores, dull skin, uneven texture, early signs of skin ageing and now changes to skin and hair loss due to recent weight loss treatments (such as GLP-1).
At Elemental Aesthetics, treatments are kept personalised and natural-looking — with a focus on healthier-looking skin rather than dramatic change.
How does microneedling work?
Treatment is performed using the advanced Dermapen 4™ device, which glides across the skin using sterile single-use needle cartridges.
The controlled micro-channels created during treatment encourage the skin’s repair response and collagen production. Treatment depth can also be adjusted depending on the area being treated and your individual skin concerns.
Microneedling is often combined with professional topical serums or exosomes selected to support hydration, recovery and overall skin health, while also improving absorption into the skin during treatment
Why choose Dermapen 4™?
Dermapen 4™ is one of the most advanced microneedling systems available, designed to deliver precise, consistent treatments with minimal discomfort and downtime.
Combined with professional skin assessment and tailored treatment planning from Arwa here at Elemental Aesthetics in Cambridge, microneedling becomes far more than a standard facial, it becomes part of a longer term skin health journey.
What can microneedling help with?
Dermapen4 microneedling is commonly used to improve:
Fine lines and early signs of ageing
Acne scarring
Enlarged pores
Uneven skin texture
Dull or tired looking skin
Pigmentation and sun damage
Stretch marks
Skin firmness and elasticity
Overall skin radiance
Hair Loss (certain Alopecia conditions) using Exosomes
Many clients also choose microneedling simply as part of regular skin maintenance and collagen support.
Is microneedling right for me?
Microneedling is suitable for many different skin types and is commonly chosen by clients wanting to improve the overall appearance of their skin and be back to normal routines quickly.
It is particularly popular for concerns such as acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores and early signs of skin ageing.
During your consultation, Arwa will assess your skin and discuss whether microneedling is the most appropriate treatment for your goals, or whether alternative or combination treatments may be more suitable.
Why choose Elemental Aesthetics for microneedling in Cambridge?
At Elemental Aesthetics, the focus is less about chasing trends or overly aggressive treatments, and more about improving long-term skin quality in a natural-looking way.
Microneedling with Dermapen 4™ is often used in helping skin appear smoother, fresher and more even over time, rather than dramatic or artificial change.
Treatments are carried out by Arwa, a clinical pharmacist with a focus on evidence-led aesthetic treatments, skin health and subtle results tailored to the individual.
Depending on your skin concerns and goals, microneedling may also be combined with complementary skin rejuvenation treatments such as polynucleotides or skin boosters as part of a personalised treatment plan.
What happens during treatment?
Your appointment starts with a consultation and skin assessment with Arwa, to understand your skin concerns, goals and suitability for treatment.
After cleansing and preparing the skin, the Dermapen 4™ device is passed across the treatment area using sterile single-use needle cartridges. Treatment depth and intensity are adjusted depending on the area being treated and your individual skin concerns.
Professional serums may also be used during treatment to support hydration and skin recovery.
Most appointments take around 45–60 minutes.
After treatment, the skin usually appears pink or lightly flushed, similar to mild sun exposure, before settling over the next 24–48 hours.
How many treatments sessions do you need?
For optimal results, a course of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended, depending on your skin goals. We have 3 and 6 session microneedling session packages available - See Price List
